Target Audience:
This lecture is designed to provide physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, residents, as well as any medical or allied health professional with advanced information to improve their care of older adults.
Learning objectives:
At the conclusion of this lecture, learners should be better able to:
Describe the diagnostic evaluation prior to surgery for the older patient, List the medications that can be used to attenuate the risk of surgery (e.g. beta blockers), Describe the best approach to minimize perioperative morbidity and mortality
