Linda Abbey received her medical degree from Duke University, and completed her residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Her clinical specialties are Long-term Care and Geriatrics, and her patient load consists entirely of house calls.

Dr. Abbey is a great contributor to the House Calls program, educating medical students and residents.

Rachel Ballard is the Assistant Educational Coordinator for the VCU/Reynolds Partnership in Geriatric Education.

She has a Master's degree in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from VCU.

Previously, Rachel was the Library Specialist for the Computer Based Instruction Lab in the VCU School of Medicine.

Dr. Boling is the Principal Investigator of the VCU/Reynolds Partnership in Geriatric Education, a $1.83 million-dollar program funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation, augmented by $915,000 in matching funds from VCU.

The program is aimed at preparing medical students, residents from several disciplines, and community physicians to provide care for an aging population.

Dr. Boling received his MD from the University of Rochester (1981), and completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Virginia of VCU (1984).

He is a Professor of Medicine and he directs the MCV Campus Geriatrics Section as well as geriatric clinical services for the VCU Health System.

Chrystal Charity is the Program Support Technician for the VCU/Reynolds partnership in Geriatric Education.

She has a B.S. in Information Systems from VCU.

She in enrolled in the Certificate Program for Marketing in the VCU School of Business.

Chrystal plays a key role in the resident component of the grant.

Angela Gentili, M.D. is the Program Director for the Internal Medicine Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals of VCU/ McGuire Veterans Affairs Hospital.

J. Dennis Hoban is the Director of Education Research for the VCU School of Medicine.

He has extensive background in program evaluation and instructional systems.

He leads efforts to evaluate the impact of the Reynolds Geriatric grant across the continuum of medical education.

Catherine Kelso completed medical school and her residency at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals of VCU, and a fellowship at MCV of VCU/McGuire Veterans Affairs Hospital.

Her specialties are long term care, hospice, and palliative care.

She is the Internal Medicine representative for the Foundations of Clinical Medicine Course, and is active on the VCU/Reynolds evaluation committee.

Beth Meyers is the Lead Educational Coordinator for the VCU/Reynolds Partnership in Geriatric Education.

She has a Master's degree in Gerontology from VCU and has been involved in the field of geriatric education for the last fifteen years.

Ms. Meyers was formerly an Educational Coordinator for the Foundations of Clinical Medicine course at the VCU School of Medicine, as well as a coordinator for the Virginia Geriatric Center .

Thomas Mulligan, MD

Thomas Mulligan received his undergraduate and medical degree from New York University, and completed his residency training at the Medical College of Virginia.

He was the founder of the geriatrics program at the Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in Richmond in 1983.

His research has focused on age-related genito-urinary disease (e.g., sexual dysfunction, male menopause) and the effect of religious activity on health outcomes in older Americans.

He has published his research in national and international journals, and has lectured across the United States.

He is currently the Chief of Geriatrics at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, and Professor of Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia.

 

Jeanne B. Schlesinger, M.Ed.

Jeanne Schlesinger is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Instructional Development for the School of Medicine's Office of Faculty and Instructional Development.


She received an M.Ed. from VCU in Adult Education and Human Resource Development in 1995.


Jeanne manages the development of computer- and web-based instructional programs for medical students with School of Medicine faculty.


She is responsible for project management and instructional development for the informatics portion of Donald W. Reynolds geriatric grant to train medical students, housestaff, and practitioners.

Rachel Selby-Penczak received her M.D. from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Allegheny University Hospitals in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Selby-Penczak was a Fellow of Geriatric Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals of VCU, where she is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine.

Her practice includes long-term care, wards, consults, and participation in the House Calls program.

Chris received a B.S. in Computer Science from VCU in 1992.

Christine Tully is Medical Director for Lucy Corr Village and sees patients at several local nursing homes.

She also directs the Geriatric Consult Service for VCUHS and is actively involved in teaching.

She was trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia, and in Geriatrics at the University of Kentucky.

Brien White is a multimedia graphic artist, with experience in design and animation of computer- and web-based graphics for medical educational applications.
